5 Surefire Ways to Fail the GED Test

Did you know that more than 700,000 people take the GED test each year? If you're one of the many people taking the GED test, here are a few things you shouldn't do if you want to pass.

  1. Don’t Prepare for the GED Exam at All
The first step in failing the test is to not prepare for it at all. It would be best if you didn’t take any GED preparation classes or practice tests. In fact, it is highly recommended that you banish the exam from your thoughts completely in the weeks leading up to testing.
  2. Stay Up Late Drinking the Night Before the Test
Another way to fail the GED is to stay up late the night before, drinking and hanging out with your friends. Why not celebrate your failure in advance? Shoot for an awful hangover, or at least get tipsy enough to forget to set your alarm. If you happen to wake up before the test is completely over, arrive in your pajamas and demand to take the full test. Cry if necessary.
  3. Three Words: Video. Game. Marathon
Instead of reviewing GED class material, spend all your time beating every video game you and your friends own. Even if you fail the test, you've succeeded at something. It should be noted that these video game victories could be difficult to explain to your loved ones. This is because they don't understand what it means to be successful.
  4. Only Use Wikipedia to Study for the Test
GED preparation classes and sample tests are for suckers and should be avoided at all costs. If it's on Wikipedia, it's worth knowing for the GED. Learn everything you can on porcupines, because - who knows? There just might be a whole section of the test devoted to those quill-covered critters. It's likely that the test actually covers subjects like math, reading, social studies, science, and writing, but how useful are those? Porcupines all the way.
  5. During the Test, Don’t Read the Questions
When you take the exam, don’t even read the questions; simply try to spell out an awesome drum beat using the ABCD options on your score sheet. "BADA BADA BADA CA! CA! CA!" Don't be afraid to experiment with different tempos by tapping your pencil on the nearest table, or even on another person who is taking the test.
